October 2012 – After 48 years in the same house, I was not looking forward to moving. To changing locations, yes; but the actual moving of my belongings, no! Big truck, three strangers, fast pace. Load it all up, drive 40 minutes, unload it all, try to get everything in place. It seemed daunting. You hear horror stories: damaged furniture, lost belongings, banged up walls, claims! Not fun.
But from my very first call to Cummings (a high referral from a friend and former mover himself)… to talking with Amber in the office to set up an appointment… to co-owner Enrique Palos’ prompt visit to estimate the cost and email me the reasonable quote within hours… to the conformation emails and phone calls again from Amber… to the three men who came on moving day… Everyone I dealt with was kind, courteous, and gracious. The crew…Cesar, Ismael and Joseph… were skilled, efficient and professional.
They didn’t even get annoyed when I managed to get in the way a few times. They broke down beds and set them up again. They wrapped and unwrapped furniture and put everything in its proper place. They moved all my self-packed boxes with care and placed them (mostly) as designated. Everything arrived in good order. There will be no complaints or claims.
The crew finished 15 minutes early, recalculated the charges and gave me the discounts as promised for cash payment and fanning on Facebook.
Moving isn’t easy. It’s stressful at any time in life but probably more so when you are older. I was exhausted at the end of the day. It’s been 2 weeks and I’m still exhausted emptying boxes and putting things in their place. But MOVING DAY wasn’t as overwhelming as I had anticipated. Thanks to you (Cesar, Ismael, Joseph, Enrique and Amber) I got through it okay.
I am very pleased and grateful that I chose Cummings to help me. Carry on!!!
Thank you sincerely,
